An ergathon is a classic crew fundraising event where athletes row a specified time on rowing machines (ergs) and ask contributors to sponsor them.

Every fall RBCC and RGCC organize an ergathon right in the center of downtown Wayne to raise funds for our many expenses including regattas, boat costs, facilities rental fees, and maintenance.  Because we are a parent-run and parent-funded club, our fundraising is critical because of the high cost of equipment, our commitment to coaching excellence, and rising boathouse costs.

We are aiming for each of our rowers to raise $250 each

 

Our rowers should:

• SELL RAFFLE TICKETS

- Each rower is given an envelope containing 200 tickets. Solicit friends and family to support you and your crew by purchasing tickets - $1 per ticket and $20 for 25 tickets to have a chance to win a basket filled with gift cards from local businesses worth $500! (Target, Top Golf, Jersey Mikes, Wawa, Amazon, Chick-Fil-A etc.)

- Two winners will be selected on Oct. 5. Winners do not need to be present to win.

- Write the name and telephone number of the buyer at the back of one half of their tickets; store tickets in an envelope to hand out to Kristen Dudley.

At the practice on Friday 3, October, all rowers will be provided with a t-shirt for this event. If you are able, we ask you to make a donation to cover the cost of these t-shirts in the amount of $20. You can pay with either cash, check or Venmo (please write “2025 Ergathon shirt” in the comments). Thank you!​
